Meanwhile, Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim population, is still entangled with economic problems. Yet, it is unclear which direction the change will lead to. The phenomena are however a good start for the emergence of a new hope in those countries. The wave of Arab Spring had toppled dictators in those countries, started from Tunisia, and then spread further to Yemen, Libya, Egypt and Syria. At the same time, Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa had undergone massive political changes. The high increase in debt to GDP ratio (as of 2010, Greece 142.8%, Italy 119%, and Ireland 96.2%) had threatened the financial collapse of these countries.
